We will spend our time in and around Los Angeles … always attempting to view the city in an unexpected way!
SERIES OVERVIEW
A group of friends attempt to navigate the world of adulthood without any of the necessary tools to handle life on their own. Their lack of foresight, inability to understand how society works, and occasionally sheer stupidity causes every standard scenario to be blown completely out of proportion. Impressively, they power through each failure and embarrassing scenario with an incredible air of superiority.
Though we are in Los Angeles, we are not watching a group of industry pros. Instead they are, as the title says, Ordinary People. Well … with some obvious flaws. While one character doesn’t have the ability to hold down a job for more than an episode, the others work in retail or other standard jobs with only one struggling actor in the bunch. Occasional work scenarios will be included in the show, but the majority of events will happen in their apartments, bars, on the big bad streets and any random place in-between.
Their complete disregard and lack of understanding of the world around them lands our cast in one abnormal scenario after the other including arguing with a neighbor and possibly eating a stew containing meatballs made from dog shit, lying to the rest of the group about a hot cougar girlfriend who is eventually revealed as a bingo playing, going to dinner at 5pm, red hair dying retiree, being recognized from hometown Ohio fame as local spokesman ‘STD Steve’, and shouting that two of their friends who are actually family members are banging … in the middle of a church…during a funeral.
This is just the beginning. Needless to say we will consistently push the envelope, utilize pop culture, tackle current events, and – not unlike our characters – we’ll do this while having complete disregard for social norms and propriety. The intent will not be to offend, but rather step away from the idea of how we are “supposed to act” and throw it all away for the sake of a laugh!
